Welcoming MoonshadowThe lightened mahogany brujo made a solid two-beated gait towards home. He had come from a bit away, but it would definitely be worth it. He was excited to show his newest miss his homeland. He hoped she would accept it, and him as a family. Perhaps together they could have an heir, but of course he wouldn't push it towards her. He knew she was very cautious of herself, but planned for her to earn her trust towards him. All she needed was a little trust. He made a halt as he entered through the borders towards his large, open-spaced land. He nickered for her, but didn't look for he knew she was behind him, and soon would see her new home. Moonshadow
The ebony mare had been shadowing the stallion closely on their trek home, as she didn't want to present a target to some predator or other, perhaps less friendly, stallion. Falling behind a bit as they entered the land, she dropped her head to swipe at a few blades of grass. Hearing the stallion's nicker, she quickly trotted up and whuffled softly. It's wonderful, my lord, she said, dropping her head politely.

The steed managed another smile and reached over gently to nuzzle her a proper welcoming. He wanted to show her more of his land, considering he was so proud of having it. But he decided to wait a bit longer till she felt more comfortable. I'm glad you like it miss Moonshadow. Perhaps you'd like a tour or you may wander yourself if you wish. I garuntee there is no danger here. He tried not to make her tense or anything, and spoke the truth.

Moonshadow
She was gazing absently across the land. It was beautiful, truly, even for a light's land. Flowing on either side of her were two small brooks, crystal clear and clean. She lowered her small muzzle into the water and took a sip, not really trying to quench a thirst, but to assess. The cool liquid flowed down her throat with no absymal taste left on her tongue after consumption. Filled with great content, she turned back to the stallion. He nuzzled her, and while she moved a slight bit in her unfortunate reflex, she did not jump and shy away for the first time. Maybe there was hope for her after all.
She was curious, and wanted to see more of the land which she not inhabited. I'd love a tour, please, she said softly, not making eye contact but not tense either. SHe raised her head to the air to smell the wind. It smelled nice, carrying scents of clean water and much healthy vegetation. Even her paranoid, overactive olfactory glands couldn't find a threatening scent. Maybe the stallion spoke the truth. Maybe, for once, she was safe from all harm.

Soldier swished at the parasites that landed on his champagne pelt. He noticed how she slightly flinched as he reached for her, but he didn't back away. He knew all she need was someone to look out for her, and someone she could trust. She had been claimed by that 'quine. She picked up a two-beated gait after she answered. He was happy she had excepted for him to come along. This way miss Moonshadow. I will first show you Aspen Lake. He smiled and gave a tiny buck before picking up a lope towards the peaceful, slow-moving liquid pool. He slowed to a walk and began to wade in the cool, refreshing water. Daggers and pillars splashed as he purposely kicked the water. Droplets sprayed everywhere around him, and he nickered for Moonshadow to join in on the fun. This is Aspen Lake miss. The center of Aspen Delta.

Moonshadow
At first, she was afraid that he might be offended by her slight flinch and chase her away, but he didn't seem to be fussed. But then again, why would he? Moonshadow reasoned with herself. She was his mare now, and as his only, he'd be loathe to chase her away for such a petty offense. There she was, being paranoid again. She tried to relax, but it was such an unknown action to her that it was impossible. She'd just try to enjoy the stallion's company and the safety that the land provided. Maybe it would help her.
As the stallion frolicked off, Moonshadow had to follow, cantering dolefully along behind him, and wishing that she could feel his energy and spirit. He brought her to a large lake, serene and pacific. He immediately immersed himself into the pool, before calling for Moonshadow to follow. She hesitated for a moment, as she didn't know if she could swim, but walked in cautiously anyway. She was careful to stay in the shallows where the water barely hit her chest. She walked around experimentally, relishing the soft slapping of the cool water on her body as she ambled through it. It was actually quite pleasurable. Moonshadow was glad that she had taken the dip.

The champagne figure shifted out of the water after a bit of soaking. He shook his pelt and tossed his dial playfully. Slowly lowering to the ground, he laid on his side and began kicking, rolling his back and pelt on the dirt. Once he stood up again he shook, as a huge dust swarm flew off of him. He looked to Moonshadow and smiled kindly at her. Come miss Moonshadow, I will show you the meadow. He snorted at the dust up his nostrils before picking up a sweet trot. Before he disappeared he made a halt and looked behind him to wait for his beautiful miss.

Moonshadow
She flipped the water with her nose a little bit, playing with it. She glanced to the the stallion and noticed that he was clambering out of the water and back onto the shore. Moonshadow hastily followed him, stumbling a little bit. The water slowed her, and it wasn't until the stallion was finished rolling that she arrived next to him.
Her legs and underbelly were wet, but the rest of her was dry, so she didn't need to roll to dry off. A slight breeze flowed around her legs, taking the drops of moisture with them. The stallion called for her to follow him to another place, and she trotted quickly behind him, not eager to be left behind.

The champagne king picked up a slow trot once more after his first miss had gotten out of the water to follow. After passing up a swarm of bees, an old grizzly's den, and a playful doe and fawn, Soldier made a halt before the gorgeous meadow. Standing before him was tall grass weeds painted a yellowish-gold color. The were the height of his underbelly and made him itch when he walked in it. He knew it'd grow taller after the season was over, only to be plastered to the ground from the harsh snow that might be coming the following winter. The thought disappeared after the king tossed his head and turned back towards Moonshadow, whom he knew was following him. He was a good leader, and was born to be with mares and foals. Some say he could be an angel, but only he knew otherwise. Harks perched atop his head like growing roses as he waited for his Moonshadow. He nipped at the taller weeds with grace as the sound of love birds chirped up ahead.

Moonshadow
The meadow was a little frightening to the ebony mare, just because its tall grass could hide many small predators like foxes and young wolves. Her mind drifted to Soldier's first words to her when she arrived at Aspen Delta. I guarantee that there is no danger here. Was it true? Moonshadow, making a bold decision, no matter how tiny it was, decided to just take Soldier's word for it. He, after all, knew more about this land than she.
The towering yellow stalks reached up to the stallion's belly, but they soared even higher to Moonshadow. She found herself struggling to wade through the sea of grass. Maybe she'd grow a bit more with good food, as she was still pretty young and hadn't had much to eat wandering by herself or on the ship. She only had to bend her crested neck a little bit to touch her muzzle to the grasses. She lipped the tops off of a few stalks, chewed them pensively, and decided that they were good. More avidly, she ripped the upper halves of the grasses off and swallowed them.

The steed gave his first miss a sweet smile as he was proud of her for following him in the first place. He knew that Aspen Delta would be a splended place to live, especially here with Moonshadow. Hopefully, soon there'd be some more faes and possible foals, but he'd wait a bit longer. Just until Moonshadow and Soldier got along a bit better and fully trusted each other. He too nipped at the tall weeds before he listened closely to the nearby waterfall. Idea entered his mind as he nickered for Moonshadow to follow him there. It was the only waterfall in the whole land, and quite small. But it was the most beautiful thing you would ever see in this part of the world. The water fell from an above rock, much higher than expected. Only little water fell from it, but it still caused many tiny sprinkles to land on his muzzle. He snorted and made a halt next to the ledge and waited for Moonshadow.

Moonshadow
Her curiosity aroused and always submissive, Moonshadow obediently followed the stallion. She quickly swiped at one last bite of grass and was contentedly grinding it with her molars as she trotted swiftly to catch up with Soldier. As she ensued Soldier, she heard the faint trickle of cool water flowing over so many rocks, and the softer splash of it hitting a pool. She broke into a lope to catch up.
The warm, blazing sun had already dried her belly from her dip into the lake, and soon, she was getting mildly sprayed again. She hesitated, a few lengths behind the stallion, to look up at the waterfall. She had only seen a few of these phenomena before, and none so small and delicate as this. She loved it immediately, and walked carefully after Soldier, for the water made the rocks slippery.
It is wonderful, my lord, she breathed happily, thrusting her muzzle into the gentle spray experimentally. She withdrew her damp nose, and licked the fat droplets from her muzzle.

Daggers backed away from the long drop into the dip. He nickered kindly at her and admired her delight and interest in it. The sun began to set, and being under such tall oaks, it was getting darker rapidly. Soldier made his way higher up the slippery slope until he lay down under a warm oak bed. He nickered for Moonshadow. Perhaps she'd like to join him tonight. |short and boring, i know|

Moonshadow
She withdrew her dished head from the waterfall, and shook it slightly to evict the water droplets buried in her fur. Soldier nickered, and she obediently turned towards him. She took one look up at the darkening sky and walked hastily towards Soldier. She thrust her dainty muzzle into the air and sniffed for threatening smells. It was much easier for predators to pounce upon them with darkness as their invisibility cloak. She meekly followed Soldier up a slippery incline, but hesitated as he lay down. Shouldn't she remain on guard? Finally, her heart got the better of her instinct, and she lay down besides him.

The might King gave her a slight nuzzle as he noticed her nervousness. He had promised her that there was no danger in Aspen Delta, and he wouldn't take that back. She would sleep, he'd keep watch. He could sleep during the day when Moonshadow wasn't as nervous as she was now. Also, the waterfall usually never attracted any danger because it was so well hidden from the open meadow. He nuzzled her once more before nickering for her to rest. He'd be right there beside her.
