Moonshadow's small, hard hooves skimmed the arid ground as she trotted through the claiming land. Her ears were pricked alertly, and her nostrils dilated as they tried to catch the scent of a nearby stallion. She came to a sudden stop, muscles tensing under her ebony pelt as the breeze brought a worrying scent. However, it was gone the next moment and the mare chatised herself silently for being so paranoid. She easily moved forward into her floating trot and continued for a little longer before stopping again.
She had been alone for so long. She wasn't made to live out on her own. Timid as she was, she'd much rather meekly follow a dictating lead than make her own decisions and fend for herself. She nickered tentatively, her soft voice echoing across the plains.

A ghostly, champagne figure made its way towards the lands known as the 'Claim beach'. He was steadied at a peaceful lope towards the waving sandshore, until he heard the faint wicker of a 'quine. Without even knowing what to expect, the king made his way, trying to pick up the scent of the calling miss. It didn't take long until he reached an opening in the buzzing summer heat. Pests landed on his lightened pelt as the appearing ebony fae was in sight.
Buckskin figure made his way closer to the dove, watching her every move and scenting that she wasn't of the darkened ally. He stopped about a horse length away from her, knowing by now she must know he was there. He'd make a proper greeting.
Lo 'quine. I see you are in need of some company and I'd be more than happy to visit. I am Soldier, King of lights and ruler of Aspen Delta.
A straight muzzle curved to a welcoming grin.

Moonshadow
The mare's ears flicked backwards as she heard the faint sound of hooves on sand. She turned quickly to glimpse the buckskin stallion approaching her at an effortless lope. Small patches of sweat began to form on her sloping shoulders and crested neck from a mixture of nervousness and the scalding sun on her midnight coat. It was her first exposure to a stallion since the alpha in her herd had evicted her. She didn't really know what to think, and decided to be wary.
She was naturally wary of all horses, though, so she didn't have to concentrate very hard. Subconsciously, her muscles tensed, ready to flee at the first sign of danger. She straightened and raised her head, trying to make her petite 14.2 hh frame seem more formidable. She scruitinized the stallion with her large, chocolate eyes, before opening her mouth to form a reply.
Hello, she said in politely, not finding the need to elaborate. She followed a strict code of not speaking unless spoken to, and found that this was the best way to avoid offending anyone. The stallion seemed nice enough, a light by title and by mannerisms. His muzzle was carved into an amiable smile, which Moonshadow found reassuring. It helped that the beach was an open place, too. Lots of room to run away if the need arose.

He realized how frightened and tensed up she felt. He felt sorry for coming, but had the need and goal to help the midnight arabian trust him. Afterall he was a true light, and would never harm anyone unless feeling threatened. Soldier halted where he was a backed away half a step, barely noticable.
Miss, I see you're are uncomfortable with me around, but you don't have to worry for I am a true light. I would never harm another. What is you dubbance?
He asked, inching forward but not being too close to her just yet. Pest bit his pastern suddenly and he was startled. Dial lowered towards the ground, itching the newer but tiny wound he now had. After looking back up at the fae he gave her an apologetic smile.

Moonshadow
He wasn't lying to himself; she was tense and frightened. However, he didn't show interest in claiming her yet, just befriending her. Even the mare notorious for her paranoia couldn't find a single threatening detail about him. Then why was she still uneasy? It was just carved in her brain to be afraid and wary of every horse.
The stallion was now taking a respectful half-step backwards. Moonshadow took his cue and also backed away a few steps, until she felt more comfortable. Would this equine be the first to win her trust? Moonshadow fervently hoped so. It was terrible to never be accepted or loved. It was partly her fault that she avoided everybody, but the only other stallions she had seen were desperate bachelors who just wanted her as a trophy.
I am uncomfortable, but it's not your fault, the mare began, lowering her head as she spoke. She seldom strung so many words together. I'm Moonshadow.

Soldier gave her another soft smile towards her. She understood for she wasn't the first to act uncomfortable towards him. He was a big built steed and a fighter for sure. He was understanding her already. Secretly looking over the ebonite bodic, he inched forwards once more than halted again. He nodded at the name. Moonshadow seems to fit her perfectly. Orbs began to glitter as he searched for the tunes to tell her.
Sweet Moonshadow. I have a home to offer you at Aspen Delta. I have grown quite lonely by myself and I see you are in need of a home. I invite you to mine, you may stay as you wish. And if you wish to leave, I won't stop you from doing so. But I'm almost positive it will be to your liking.
He inched forward once more, wanting to get comfortable before he showed her his kingdom.

Moonshadow
The stallion was inching forwards, trying to be subtle, but Moonshadow's eyes didn't miss much, especially when she was nervous. She didn't really mind, though. She was still far enough away to be comfortable, and he didn't seem to be threatening in his intent. Perhaps he would be the first to accept her.
I would love that, Moonshadow replied, a little breathless and her eyes bright with happiness. So he did want her! He was offering her a home! Lead the way.

Mahogany brujo managed to give Moonshadow a sweet smile before spinning around in a 1-80. He nickered to join him by his side before picking up a peaceful, yet solid two-beat towards home. <archives>
